about

I’m a network engineer working on IP numbering, peering, and routing security. The pieces that have to work before anything else does.

More than two decades in and around carrier networks: early days in operations and troubleshooting, now in architecture, automation, and policy.

Beyond the dayjob, the curiosity goes wider: home labs, automation, cloud platforms, security, and whatever else is catching my eye.

I follow ARIN policy work, on the mailing lists and at the Public Policy Meetings. Active at NANOG too, where the operations community actually talks: peering, content delivery, day-to-day work.

focus

Real IPAM. Infoblox at service-provider scale. IPv4 conservation when it’s genuinely scarce, IPv6 hierarchy with room to grow, number resource transfers when needed.

Peering aligned with MANRS. NLNOG-compliant filters by default. Local preference hierarchies that match operational reality. IXP buildout and content PNI work.

Routing security at carrier scale. RPKI ROAs that are accurate and complete, IRR objects that match what’s actually announced, ASPA validation deployed and serving real traffic.

DNS aligned with the address plan. Authoritative zones that match the IPAM source of truth, including reverse DNS for v4 and v6. Recursive design with sensible caching and split-horizon where it earns it. DNSSEC where it matters; abuse controls aligned with policy.
